FOODIE FRIDAY PAIRING was inspired by Ambrosial Catering And Events in Houston, TX.

Steak, crab and wine, a few of my favorite things. This week I paired Ambrosial Catering & Event’s Oscar Surf and Turf with Wave Series Sauvignon Blanc.

Wave Series Left Wave Sauvignon Blanc is from Chile’s South Pacific Coast. The coast influences the pure, vibrant and refreshing characteristics of this wine. On the palate, you will taste fresh fruit, citrus, grapefruit and acidity. On the nose, hints of lime, grapefruit and Gooseberry. Try this wine with a variety of seafood dishes, salads or creamy cheeses.

Sauvignon Blanc offers a wide range of style and flavors. The Sauvignon Blanc originates from the Bordeaux region of France; also known as Pouilly-Fumé, Sancerre, Graves, Entre-Deux-Mers and Touraine. It is widely produced all over the world and is a versatile grape. The climate in which the Sauvignon Blanc grape is produces can yield wine that range in flavor from grassy to sweet tropical.

I enjoy Sauvignon Blanc with seafood and paired this fresh crab oscar sauce topped filet with it although the meat is red. When sauces are involved, I often pair the wine with the sauce. Have fun with your pairings and cheers to finding a perfect pairing!
